Heidy Rodriguez is a writer, filmmaker, and advocate dedicated to all things transformative, inclusive, and healing. Born and raised in Los Angeles to Guatemalan immigrants, she draws on her bicultural roots to explore and challenge narratives surrounding justice, gender, and belonging. Her professional path spans nonprofit consulting, public affairs project management, and corporate strategy for a Forbes Top 500 company. Her creative work includes FUERTE, a short film about a Los Angeles street vendor, which screened at the East LA 5 Minute Film Fest and Apertura Showcase at the Downtown Independent Theater.
Her voice has also appeared on KCET Departures, the Guatemala Human Rights Commission, and the Persistence of Sound radio show. As an author, Heidy writes to honor memory, resilience, and everyday magic—the kind found between a dance break and a home-cooked meal. Growing up between Koreatown and the South Bay, raised on thrift store treasures and Guatemalan cuentos, she carries forward the power of story across mediums. Her debut children’s book, inspired by her Puerto Rican and Guatemalan children, celebrates heritage, identity, and love.
